Conditional Admission

UNC Charlotte offers conditional admission to potential students seeking undergraduate admission.

Conditional admission in this context means that the student has met all the requirements for admission to UNC Charlotte except for the test scores required to demonstrate English language proficiency.

Students who are admitted conditionally may satisfy the English proficiency requirements by a. obtaining the required test score set by the program or department OR b. successfully completing the final level of the ELTI with a passing grade. Check with Undergraduate Admissions if you have any questions about conditional admission to an undergraduate program.

Conditional admission is not offered for graduate programs at UNC Charlotte, but successfully completing the final level of the ELTI with a passing grade is accepted by the Graduate School as proof of English language proficiency.
